Linux RTOS Engineer (Remote)

As a Linux RTOS Engineer at Ainstein, AI you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the high performance and security standards are maintained within the RTOS and a lot more!

A typical work schedule is 9AM - 5PM, Monday through Friday. Our standard benefits have premiums that are lower than you may be use to, with some new non-traditional perks scheduled for 2022.

This position reports to: Director of Engineering

Location: Remote anywhere in the United States

Candidates, if invited, are required to travel to Lawerence, KS for an onsite interview. If hired, we require new employees to onboard in-person in the office in Lawrence, KS. Following the initial onboarding, new remote employees are required to visit occasionally, once every month or two, for face-to-face meetings.

Please note that we do not sponsor employment visas, being authorized to work in the U.S. is a pre-condition employment for new employees.

Successful candidates will have the following experience:

  • Apply appropriate patches, security changes, and any Linux-related drivers (future) as required
  • Troubleshoot low-level Linux/RTOS and kernel issues as they arise. Decrease bootup time
  • Expertise/knowledge of the open source Yocto Project for making Linux distributions as necessary
  • Working with the Tech Lead to determine viable future development paths
  • MS Computer Science, MS Electrical Engineering, or MS Computer Engineering preferred
